Nelson

The ferry from Wellington to Picton entering Queen Charlotte Sound
The drive from Picton to Nelson along the scenic route
'enry' in his place at Richmond, just outside Nelson.  Our own space!

Well we have had a wonderful day.  The weather is very warm with clear blue skies (sorry everyone!!) We left early this morning after skyping Stuart, Clem and Mia Rose and Felix.  It was lovely to speak and see them.
We arrange a boat trip today to Abel Tasman National Park.  This is right   up on the north of South Island.  The boat trip was fantastic and we were able to go from bay to bay in a catamaran and get in really close to seals on the way.  We had the full trip up the coast dropping people off on various bays and then we went back to Bark Bay to walk to Torrent Bay.  It was supposed to be a 6 km walk but because it was so up and down along narrow paths carved out of the side of the mountain.  I only freaked out once, when the path had disintegrated over a steep drop into the sea below.  Still we carried on up and down, poor David has hay fever at the moment and suffered a little on the steep bits, but we made it and then had a walk down to Torrent Bay where we were picked up by a ferry boat. It is so shallow we had to walk out to the sea to get on the boat.  The ride back was just as good as going out and we arrived back well and truly knackered.  We are now deciding that tomorrow will be a relaxing day....I don't think we have ever seen such deep blue seas and sandy bays.  A well worthwhile trip.
